Have I ever mentioned the fact that I LOVE GLEE.
Well.. I LOVE GLEE!!!
I may or may not have made a playlist of JUST Glee songs for the gym…
Oh, and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
So last night the bf, being the meat lover that he is, really wanted to go for dinner at DBGB Kitchen and Bar.

They are known for their meat – specifically their sausages and burgers. Yeah, not exactly my cup of tea, but me, being the wonderful girlfriend that I am, agreed to go with him.
Unfortunately, there was some work stuff the bf had to deal with during dinner so we didn’t get to enjoy the experience as much as we would have liked.
So, I didn’t get too many good pictures of the restaurant, but let me tell you. I loved it. The atmosphere was great. The front is a bar area with open seating and in the back is an amazing dining area with tables, booths and semi-private seating. It was busy and the service was a bit slow… but that is to be expected in such a crowded and popular place.
We sat in the open seating area and, as it says on the website, the writing is, quite literally, on the wall. The walls are floor to ceiling mirrors adorned with the menu items and culinary quotes (overwhelmingly about meat…and how great it is
).
This is my attempt at some decent pictures of the walls:
It was definitely a meat-lovers haven.
The bf ordered a GIANT beer.
Admittedly, it looks MUCH MUCH bigger in this photo than it actually was.
I had a couple sips.
We split a chopped salad and an octopus appetizer. I had most of it, though, as none of main dishes really appealed to me.
My plate:
The bf ordered the “Yankee Burger”. Which is pretty much a standard burger with all the trimmings. He said it was great.
I ate most of his fries though
.
I got the ratatouille side.
The picture doesn’t do it justice but WOW was it ever good. I am determined to recreate it.
Ratatouille is a French stewed veggie dish with tomatoes, garlic, onions, zucchini, eggplant, bell peppers and lots of herbs.
I never think to make it, but, it’s so delicious, I think it should be a regular on my menu!
As I didn’t eat too much at the restaurant I was pretty hungry when I came home. So I had 2 mini Clementines and a pb and j larabar.

I had a lazy breakfast this morning of a mix of cold cereals.
Puffins and Nature’s Path Smart Bran. The Smart Bran is not my favourite on it’s own, it is actually a bit too sweet tasting, but I like to mix it with other cereals.
Almond milk, half a sliced banana and some Barney Butter rounded it out.
I have lots to do today and a very special friend visiting so I better get moving on my day!
Have a wonderful Friday!

Oh no! I usually buy the original unsweetened and use it with cereal that isn’t too sweet. Get the unsweetened next time!
