Janna! I just discovered your site and am adding it to the ever-growing list of other food blogs I read compulsively. I went on a 10-day meditation course in September and it was the most intense experience of my life. My tip for you or anyone just starting out is to keep an open mind. Also, try making a habit of meditating every day, even if only for five minutes. The length of time you sit is not as important as establishing a consistent practice. Are you coming back to Toronto? We should get together and talk about eating and meditating and yoga!

Yeah, Sadie's class was very shoulder intensive though! That's why I'm trying for more calm type classes. At the last one I went to at Exhale, the instructor had me do "downward puppy" instead of downward dog, haha!

Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely give The Fierce Club a try!

A lot of people who practice yoga have injuries of some kind. The great thing about it is many times, they give different options for poses. Either way, it's great for stretching you out!

That class sounds so weird! At least it ended up being a great class. You should really try a yoga class (your first one is FREE) at The Fierce Club with Sadie -- make sure you take Sadie's class. If you loved what you did in this class you will go nuts over hers, I promise.

I can't do yoga like that because of my injured shoulder that seems to never get better. :( I'm trying to get more into yoga so I can stretch better though!
