JH and I headed to Atlas Cafe in the East Village for lunch today. It was a cute little cafe, with 5 tables, an impressive dessert display and lots of vegan/veggie options
The menu was written in colorful writing on the walls.
And, of course, there was a “$5.00 charge for Whining”… Um?
JH and I each ordered a sandwich and a dessert.
I got the roasted veggie with avocado spread and balsamic, which was really good.![]()
JH got the Portobello sandwich which she enjoyed. ![]()
We were impressed with the sandwiches but they came with greasy potato chips on the side which we were both not a fan of.
We also decided to try some of their awesome looking desserts they had on display.
Unfortunately all of their baked goods contained soy/tofu so I wasn’t able to have them.
JH got a peanut butter bomb brownie which looked Ah-mazingly good.
And I got the only soy-free dessert – a surprisingly large “one-scoop” of chocolate fro-yo topped with coconut
Yum. I love coconut.
Us outside the restaurant. I am attempting not to laugh.
I would definitely recommend this place for a quick breakfast, lunch or snack if you live around the East Village or happen to be in the area.
Great food, lots of veggie options and good prices.
I’m off to accompany BF to Shake Shack and then we’re going to try and find a place for me to eat!
Tomorrow we’re going to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!!! So excited!
Happy Early Thanksgiving
