Good morning! It’s a rainy day here in NYC. Really rainy actually… It makes me just want to stay inside, but I have big plans for today which include grocery shopping, a sample sale and some gym time (I’ve missed my Brazilian workout. I haven’t done it in so long) so I can’t stay in!
So, my bestest friend JH just recently moved into her new apartment and I was going to see it for the first time yesterday. I wanted to bring her a housewarming present, but I wasn’t sure exactly what. After a bit of thinking I decided on a themed basket of household goodies.
As JH is a big fan of the color green, I decided the theme should be green
I decided to pick up an array of some green kitchen goodies for her.
They included some green lined kitchen towels, two adorable green plates, green measuring cups and a green dotted mug.
You can’t really see the mug in the picture up top so here’s a better view.
I also picked up an adorable basket to wrap everything in. I knew she could put the basket to good use too, to store things like dvd’s, bathroom stuff, books, headbands…etc.
**For other gift ideas, you can check out my holiday gift guide!**
I brought it over and she was very happy
Success!
I went over around dinner time and we were hungry so we cooked up a simple meal.
We decided on JH’s signature salad (spinach, goats cheese, walnuts and craisins with a balsamic dressing) You have to get more veggies in there, JH…or even some fruit!!!
And some Annie’s mac and cheese. I forgot to take a picture, so this is when I only had a couple bites left in my bowl!
Love Annies
Also, wanted to give a big thanks to Nicole from Healthy Chow who wrote about me and my little blog yesterday in her quest to meet new bloggers this month.
She is the sweetest! Thanks Nicole!
Have a great Wednesday! Hope it’s not too rainy where you are.

I love your little green gift basket. What a wonderful housewarming gift! You are such a thoughtful and creative person – even the gift wrapping is perfect. Annie’s Mac and Cheese is one of my favorites quick meals. I try to bulk it up by adding chopped tomatoes, broccoli and more cheese! But at least I added some veggies first
SO glad to have ‘met’ you, dearie! Enjoy your day!

Touche! Craisins are dried fruit.
Do you like artichoke hearts or hearts of palm? Those, along with strawberries and maybe some chickpeas would be realllly good in that salad!

Wow, what a great housewarming gift! I never know what to get people. I love the idea of putting it all in a basket. It looks great, and she can definitely use the basket too!

Thanks! Yes, she definitely can use the basket. Now I kind of want to get one for myself
