At least today started off on a high note!
I made myself my regular SIAB (almond milk, frozen fruit, 1/2 banana and 3/4 scoop Amazing Meal Chocolate, topped with Kashi 7 Grain and a scoop of PB!) for breakfast.
And I made BF a PB and J on Sourdough.
So gourmet
BF and I bought Smooth Operator from PB and Co to try. We liked! (For the J, I used Trader Joe’s Superfruit spread).
BF left for work and then the day got a little rocky….
Today I had my first Anatomy and Physiology class.
I take the train (subway) to school and when I got there this morning I realized I didn’t have enough money on my metrocard. Crap!
I tried to add money with the machines, but they weren’t working! I went to ask the attendant if I could add a couple dollars to my card and she said no! So I had to go back up to the street, go into a different subway entrance, add money to my card and then go back up onto the street and finally back down into the subway entrance I needed to be in. AH!
At this point I was slightly behind schedule, but nothing a bit of a brisk jog couldn’t fix. Except… then the train didn’t show up. We waited and waited…and WAITED. Three trains had already passed going the other direction. Where was my train?!?! FINALLY after what felt like an eternity, it showed up. When I got off at my stop, I RAN to the school, in the freezing cold, got inside, crossed into another building and went up a bunch of escalators to finally arrived at my class, completely out of breath. …I was 15 minutes late. I had literally tried my hardest to make it on time. It was the best I could do!
If anyone is dedicated to her studies, it is me. If anyone shows up to class RIGHT ON TIME, it is me. This was literally the one exception. But first impressions mean a lot, and my Professor’s first impression of me was not a positive one
After I came in late he made an announcement to the class about taking school seriously and respecting the Prof enough to come to class on time. Not the friendliest of people…
I was mortified and so upset. That is not like me at all! I am probably taking this class more seriously than anyone else! I was not happy with myself and vowed to NEVER EVER be late again.
After class I tried to go up and talk to him to apologize for my lateness and explain that I was VERY serious about school. But apparently everyone in my class is a ginormous keener and the line-up to speak with him was so long! GR! I waited for a bit, but in the end decided to leave as I was trying to make a yoga class. I will have to talk to him next class…
I made it to yoga just in time. It was a great class and almost made me forget about what a bad student I am
I have another class soon, and I will NOT be late! So I have to run!!!
*Stay tuned tomorrow for a DAIYA VEGAN CHEESE review!*
Happy Friday!
Are you someone who arrives to things early? Or are you always running late?

Sorry you had a bad first day experience. That sucks! The prof will realize how serious you are once you start handing in assignments so don’t worry about it too much.

Poor, Janna…you’ll prove yourself in no time!
What do you recommend as a good “bag lunch” now that you’re going to be out and about at school!
And me…I’m ALWAYS on time…HA

So what did we learn from all this.

We learned to take courses with nicer Professors! Kidding! We learned to always keep your metro card filled (check!) and to give yourself LOTS of extra time to make it to class.
