An Inspired Valentine’s Weekend

I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day/Weekend :)

Here are a few many highlights from mine…

Dinner on Friday night at 10 Downing

All the food was delicious but my favorite dish of the evening was actually the warm marinated bright green olives I ordered as an appetizer.
(sorry for the flash)

I also enjoyed a very cheeesy polenta dish….
021510 007
And a baby beet salad with burata cheese (and more of the olives!)
021510 010

On Saturday we took a trip to the Chelsea Market
(btw…if you are in NYC or visit here, go to the Chelsea Market!)

And to my surprise, they had opened a One Lucky Duck in the market!

So, I picked up a Green Mango Shake for myself!

It was amazing. It had all of my favorite flavours, which might at first glance not seem to go together…but definitely did!:
Mango, cucumber, cilantro, chilled coconut water and lime. So yum! And refreshing!

Sunday, it was off to the Ballet.
I can’t recall ever having ever seen a Ballet outside Winnipeg, so going to see The New York City Ballet perform Swan Lake was the BEST gift the BF could have ever got for me!!

I LOVED IT! (obviously) ;)

And then it was time for our much awaited Valentine’s Feast:

Wine, wine…and more wine! That was the theme, apparently :)

The BF’s Boeuf Bourguignon (which he, thankfully, LOVED)
021510 029
The “Drunken Spaghetti”
021510 030
(Spelt pasta, garlic, WINE, parsley and Dante cheese)

Roasted and glazed multi-color carrots

And a green salad with apricots, goat cheese and walnuts that missed the cameras eye.

We ate while watching The Olympics!

Gotta give a big CONGRATS to Alex Bilodeau, for winning Canada’s FIRST gold on home soil! YAY CANADA!

Those Olympians are so inspiring! But they definitely earn their places, prior to the games, Apolo Ohno apparently worked out 3 times a day for 2 hours each time! Insanity!

What is your favorite Olympic Sport to watch???

I’m going to be cliché and say figure skating… it’s just so beautiful, and I couldn’t skate for my life, so it’s even more amazing to watch how strong and graceful the competitors are on the ice.
